Frequently Asked Questions

Need a little more information? Here are some of our most frequently asked questions!

Can I have my dog inside?

Absolutely yes! In order to access the outside facilities, you must first enter through the front doors with your furry friends on leash. This ensures our staff members have the opportunity to greet you and let you know about the rules.  After making a purchase and paying your membership fee, your dog can be anywhere inside the building (except the kitchen of course) as long as he or she is kept on a leash.

Can I bring in my other pets/animals?

While we love all animals,  only dogs are allowed to enter our facility. No other pets/animals are allowed on the premises.

Why does my dog need to be on a leash when inside or on the patio?

This rule is in place to ensure the safety and comfortability of all of our guests and their dogs. We want our patrons to have the best possible experience in our facility. Having your dog leashed in these areas, ensures ALL patrons and dogs comfort and safety while dining at Pub Dog.

Why don’t you allow children under 16 in the off leash area?

This rule is for everyone’s safety.  Dogs who are off leash can, at times, become unpredictable and it is an insurance liability. This rule is necessary for us to maintain our insurance coverage. You are however, welcome to have children with you on the patio and inside the building.

Can I use the off leash area and not purchase anything?

No. Our facilities are for paying members only.

It’s easy to become a member though! Just purchase any food, drink or merchandise from the bar and a small percentage membership fee will be added to your bill. By paying this fee, you are automatically eligible to use any of our facilities during your visit.

Does Pub Dog have breed restrictions?

Not at this time. We understand that dog’s behavior is often dictated by their owners, which means that there are many exceptions to every breed stereotype out there. We strive to facilitate a very inclusive environment here at Pub Dog.  As long as your dog is well-behaved and plays well with other dogs, we welcome them. We do however, reserve the right to ask any patron to leave that has a dog that is acting aggressively or who won’t follow the rules.

What if there is an aggressive dog?

Please let any Pub Dog staff member know immediately if you feel like there is a dog that is being aggressive and we will handle the situation. Members who cannot control their dogs will be asked to leave immediately.

Why don’t I have a server?

This was one of the many rules set forth by the Health Department of El Paso County in order for us to open a dog friendly establishment that also serves food and drinks.

Their worry was that the staff would pet the dogs and then deliver food to patrons. For this reason, we operate like a cafe or counter service style restaurant instead.

You order food and beverages from our bar and when your food is ready, you’ll receive a text message to come pick it up.

You can either pay as you go or start a tab and add to your order  at any time. We do have cocktail servers outside during our busy days to help take orders for you.

Can I smoke or vape on the patio?

Please don’t.

Our entire property is a non-smoking property. If you MUST smoke or vape, please do so IN your car or across the street from the property, not in the parking lot.

Smoke and vapors make for a miserable experience for both the dogs and for our non-smoking guests so please be respectful of this rule.

If we see you vaping or smoking on our property, we will ask you to leave.

Can the employees touch the dogs?

Pub Dog staff is only allowed to touch dogs in emergency situations. If any staff member touches a dog for any reason, the first thing they do is wash their hands….twice.

How do you keep everything so clean?

We spend a lot of time each week making sure our facilities are as clean as possible!

Every night, the entire indoor area is sanitized and cleaned with enzyme treatments and industrial strength odor reducing products.

We deep clean and sanitize the off leash area, including the toys and surrounding cement multiple times per week.

Every day, the off leash area is sanitized 2 – 3 times to eliminate any food or ‘doggie residue’.

Let’s just say, we like to hire clean freaks! Our motto around Pub Dog is “If you have time to lean, then you have time to clean!”

Do you take reservations?

Everything is first come first served.

The only exception to this is when someone books a private event.

If you have any questions about booking a private event, please call us.

Do you have gift cards?

E-Gift cards can be purchased here.

If you prefer a physical gift card, you can purchase one at the restaurant. At this time, we do not mail physical gift cards.

I have questions about my order from your online merchandise store.

Thank you for making a purchase from our online merch store! We use a third party vendor to handle the printing, shipping, returns and questions related to all online orders.

If you made an online order prior to March 7, 2023, click here.

If you made an online order after March 7, 2023, click here.

How do I become a member?

A small percentage membership fee is added to your bill when you purchase food, drinks or merchandise. By paying your bill with this membership fee, you are automatically eligible to use any of our facilities during your visit.

What is the membership fee for?

 1. Paying the fee ensures your agreement with our rules and enables many of the safety measures of our pup and human friendly business.

2. Membership fees assist with the added costs associated with keeping our unique establishment clean for all of our members and staff. We take great pride in keeping all healthy and clean.

Do you have somewhere my dog can play off leash?

We sure do! We have over 9000 square feet of combined outdoor and heated indoor, fenced in, off leash area for your dogs to play.  We just ask that you clean up after your dog and make sure they play well with others. This area functions like a dog park where YOU assume all responsibility for YOUR dog and its behavior. If your dog doesn’t like being approached by other dogs, we recommend staying on the patio, with your dog leashed.

After making a purchase and paying your membership fee, you are automatically eligible to use any of our off leash facilities during your visit.

Do I have to show proof of my dog's vaccination records?

We do not require members to show vaccination proof when entering Pub Dog.

You do however, need to make sure your dog is up to date on all vaccinations and licenses.

If your dog is involved in any type of incident or altercation, the other dog parents will most likely want to see those records so we recommend making sure they are easily accessible before entering our establishment.

Can I take my food or drinks into the off leash area?

There are no restrictions on where you can have food or beverages within the confines of Pub Dog. However, we make no promises about having puppy noses sniffing around your food or even trying to take a bite.  We are not responsible for any food or beverages lost while in the off leash area.

Can I bring in my own picnic, water bottles, food or beverages?

No. We provide options for all of these things, including water, for our customers. Any food or beverages consumed on our property MUST be purchased from us. Any baby formula, bottles and breast milk are not subject to this rule and will always be allowed.

Does my dog have to be spayed or neutered?

In the off leash area – YES

In the patio or inside the dining hall – NO

We do not expect dogs under the age of 1 year to be spayed or neutered. However, we reserve the right to ask you to leave if you are not abiding by this rule.

What happens if my dog gets injured?

When you enter the premise, you are agreeing to all of the rules set by Pub Dog Colorado. One of these rules is that members are liable for damage, injury or illness inflicted by their dogs. This means owners are financially and legally responsible for their dog’s behavior.  If there is an injury to any dog, Pub Dog employees must be notified. We will fill out an incident report and facilitate the exchange of information between both parties. From here, it is up to both doggie parents to work together on medical treatments for either or both dogs.

Should I tip my bartenders?

Our staff is made up of all tip based employees. Tips are distributed evenly each day.

They are working just as hard, if not harder, than most servers do.  Our bartenders are not only taking your orders and making your drinks, they are making sure your fur babies are safe and they making sure that you have a beautiful and clean environment to enjoy.

They also have fur babies of their own to feed!

Do you have tv's so I can watch games?

We don’t show any sporting events or games on our televisions. We need all owners to be paying attention to their dogs while in the facility. If we have games on the tv’s, owners tend to ignore their pups which creates an unsafe environment for others.

Can employees bring their dogs to work?

No.

Owners need to have control of thier dogs at all times.  This would be incredibly difficult to do while working

Can I book a private event?

We allow private events through a buyout of the entire restaurant.

If this is something you are interested in, please call us for more information.

Can I hand out fliers for my business?

No.

We try very hard to make sure everyone enjoys their experience at Pub Dog.

If we allowed solicitation from other businesses on premise, it would greatly diminish that experience.

If this is something your business is interested in, please call us and we will talk with you more about different opportunities.

Will you build another location? If so, when?

YES!

Make sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for more information about our future growth.

How can I franchise?

We are currently not a franchise, but are working towards this goal.

If you are interested in franchising a Pub Dog in your hometown, please email us with your name, location and phone number.

Someone from the franchise development team will reach out to you.

Still have more questions? That’s ok, we LOVE hearing from you! You can email us or call us for more information!
